Betty Nolan is the owner and founder of the Nolan Art Gallery & School. She has qualifications in Art and Education from the University of Newcastle as well as the University of Tasmania. She is committed to connecting those interested in the visual arts with expert art tuition as well as providing a supportive venue for artists to show their work.
She is predominantly a painter and works in oils and watercolours.
Elia is an able and talented young contemporary artist. She tutors life drawing and painting, portraiture and oil painting for Nolan Art. She is the ideal tutor for those seeking traditional skills but delivered with a contemporary point of view.
Alyssa Bermudez is an illustrator and designer from New York who has settled in Hobart with her Tasmanian family. An experienced teacher, she teaches a range of children and adult classes and workshops with skill and charm.
Ange Cooper is a Hobart-based oil painter and printmaker. A Glover prize finalist, she recently won the Clarence Art Prize for printmaking. With a Degree in Fine Arts, Ange is also an skilled art tutor, and brings a wealth of experience to Nolan Art's program.
Vivi Ooi is an expert pastel and acrylic painter skilled in the interpretation of the human form and of landscape. Highly skilled in colour and drawing technique, Vivi has regularly won prizes in local and regional shows. Pastel is an exciting but demanding medium, and Vivi brings her skill in this and other techniques to our classes and students.
Felix Nolan brings charm and interest to the Gallery, selling work, maintaining web sites, and helping keep the School running.
