Marilyn J Patton is a Northern Tasmanian painter known for her intimate portraits of fruit and vegetables. Anthromorphising her subjects, her pears rub rumps, tickle each other and hum with fruity presence. Marilyn uses oil paint as her medium and makes the most of the open time of oils to emphasize the luscious and delicious nature of her still lifes. She is a finalist in the 2019 Tasmanian Women's Art Prize with a wonderful portrait of a Queenstown local.
