Phillip England is an artist /scientist who uses the arcane method of collodion tintypes to create exquisite portraits. The process is performative, requiring the photographic emulsion to be poured onto a blackened tin plate which is then exposed. There is 15 minutes only to create a single photograph for which there is no negative.
Phillip's 2017 exhibition, Fragile Bounty, will explore the effect of colonisation on Tasmania's fauna.
