My work results from a tension between process and product I start each print with drawings, capturing the different forms through lines and the patterns that form. I am drawing from memories of being in the landscape, the feelings conjured up, as well as photographs taken.
Not all prints are mapped out before being carved. Most start with vague outlines drawn on to the lino. Mostly, I leave the rest to chance and allow the forms to come to life through carving each line or indentation while drawing on the experience and memory of being. What I enjoy most about this process is that the print is constantly unfolding as my hand carves each line
